Kyrie on the Boston series: "We got 4-0'd.... We needed that humbling experience."
Kyrie is literally incapable of ever being humbled by anything.
I don’t know why he needed to be humbled at all, the Nets barely made the playoffs.
lets not act like people weren’t saying the Nets were the scariest 7 seed ever.
People said the Lakers the year were the scariest 7 seed ever too (though that actually made more sense).
This is so funny
Right message wrong messenger, same guy who said “you won’t see me shoot 8/22 again” vs. Milwaukee then shot 7/22
And then he was 6/21 with 9 minutes left in game 5 and got pulled. Come on Brad let him take 1 more shot!
I mean, he kept his promise.
Promising to perform better after a bad performance = not being humble?
What was he supposed to say? "Yeah I'm probably gonna have another bad performance, I'm not feeling it"
Kyrie failed to keep that promise and its fine to make fun of him for that. But what does it have to do with him being humble or not?
I mean throwing away a year just for a humbling isn’t the greatest idea either
He played 29 games lol. There wasn't much of a season left to throw away
if anyone but kyrie said this you'd think it was a completely normal reaction
Yes, it's called context
Yeah, because any other player and I'd believe that they could actually be humbled and learn something.
It's because nobody believe Kyrie was actually "humbled". Does requesting a trade after getting swept and not getting a max deal sound like you were humbled?
Maybe if he said "I" needed to be humbled the reaction would be different.
"We needed that humbling" you mean the players that played 50 more games than you?
I'm glad he acknowledged the 4-0 actually happened without excuses, and that he's happy to see JT and JB grow and have to go through them. I'd just add that they didn't just grow but they outgrew him as a player.
Tatum at least was better than Kyrie when he was in Boston. Kyrie is the most fucking overrated player, even while he's the most hated player. There has never been a point where Kyrie was a top 3 guard, and I'd argue he's only been a top 5 guard one year. Dude is Walmart-brand Dame.
when they get swept again he’s gonna say we needed to look ourselves in the mirror
